A Letter to My Hubs On Our Anniversary

Oh what a happy day it is!

2 years ago I married the man of my dreams and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't wake up thankful for the blessing of his unconditional love.

Don't get me wrong, we have been through so many ups and downs together in the last 6 years. We've learned (and keep learning) how much work marriage is, but rich is the reward and I wouldn't want to work at it with anyone else.

It's funny to think about how much I thought I knew/loved him back then, but each year just keeps getting better. My love for Adam only continues to grow deeper, and what adventures we have lying ahead!

Dear Adam Trembley,

Thank you for teaching me that...

+ happily ever after is a choice

+ it's okay to eat cold pizza for breakfast
+ some of life's greatest joys are the simple things
+ no matter how many days (weeks?) we leave clothes in the dryer, they can always be re-fluffed for the 3rd time without judgment
+ grace will always be given even if I've had to apologize four times before noon
+ your primary love languages are sour patch kids and scalp massages
+ any day is redeemable, it just takes the willpower to turn it around
+ hugs (and good beer) cure any bad day
+ some days are just meant for staying in our jammers and sipping coffee with the windows open
+ when we dream together anything is possible
+ cinnamon toast crunch is totally acceptable as a complete meal
+ there is always beauty in imperfection, you just have to find it.

So thankful for you and for how you love me so well, today and everyday.
Love you. This truly is happily ever after!

Happy Anniversary, my love.

Today's Letters

I've been blissfully caught up in fall shenanigans while on vacation with the fam this weekend.
We slept in way too late, didn't wear a drop of make-up, ate pumpkin pancakes (should've worn stretchier pants!), and had the best getaway ever.

Life is good, and I am basking in the glow today, so I figured a few little love notes were in order...

Dear Hubster //
After a year and a half of marriage, you are always finding new ways to speak my love language. Today that came in the form of helping me get the Royals game to [illegally] stream live on my work lappy. What will you amaze me with next?

Dear Ozarks //
Your version of Fall knocked the wind out of me. Just driving through windy back roads, I loved every last crimson and gold leaf on your ever-so-bushy trees.

Dear Beast //
The way you gallop toward us at top speeds after we haven't seen you all weekend makes me feel like a little kid on Christmas morning.

Dear City of Kansas City //
I love the way we have come alive in the last few weeks. Blue flags hanging from every business. High fiving complete strangers. Lighting up the entire downtown cityscape blue. It's been 29 years since the Royals have made the World Series, and deep down in my bones I think today's the day! #takethecrown

Dear Tennies //
I hope you're ready for a heavy workout, because I am pretty sure I ate a pound of Sara's famous puppy chow this weekend. Today I am worried that my jeans' button might ricochet and take out my old lady co-worker with the vigor of a champagne cork, so it's time...

Dear Adam (who always deserves two letters) //
I am surprised that you are still willing to bless me with goodbye forehead kisses every morning. Despite that I am able to sleep in longer than you, steal the covers by wrapping up like a quilt burrito, and mumble things about a 10 page paper being due (what?), you teach me that love is unconditional and yours is always readily given.

//  Life is all about the little things, my friends. //
What's one thing you're thankful for today?

My Greatest Adventure

Happy Valentine's Day, love bugs!
I hope your day is spent letting your friends and family know just how much you love them, today and everyday.

Well, I have had a fabulous time this week handing out homemade Valentine's to co-workers, family, and friends and spreading some love.

This morning, I have to celebrate my valentine, my greatest adventure.

So, I only thought it would be fitting for some quick little love notes to my favorite redheaded, freckled face, manly, handsome stud muffin.

{I am sure you all are thrilled. But I get a free pass to be mushy today, right?}

Dear Adam Trembley...

1// I love the way the mere mention of obtaining a box of sour patch kids instantly makes your heart sore and mouth water. If you keep eating them by the box full, I am pretty sure this will be you...

2//  I love that you know everything there is to know about craft beer, and you're my favorite sommelier. Next adventure? We should totally create a beer paired dinner. Yup.

3//  I love that you know how to squash a stressful day by simply hugging me. You're magic.

4//  I love that you know my love language and make up for my complete lack in domesticity. Folded fresh laundry absolutely equals love.

5//  I love that my knees buckle at the sound of you chatting with Bella Beast as she sits on your lap, inches from your face. You two are cute, and let's just venture to say I am going to be a completely sappy mess when we have littles a few years from now.

6// I love that when I'm out of town I can guarantee that you haven't turned on a single light in the house, have watched copious amounts of Sportscenter in the dark, and have lived off of whatever you have magically discovered at the bottom of our refrigerator. You're so resourceful and hilarious.

You are far more than I ever dreamed of and you know how to love me so well. You are selfless, caring, a great provider, respected, loved, hilarious, my best friend, and my greatest adventure.

Love you, buddy.

In case you missed it this week...

Wishing you day full of love and joy!

Love Letters

Dear Sugar Britches //
Thanks for letting me call you absurd nicknames like sugar britches. Or wubber face.
You make life so fun. I love that you're up for any spontaneous adventure, like when we walked 3 miles to dinner Monday. What's even better? The fact that you've already made a spreadsheet of places within a 5 mile walking distance for more adventures.

Dear Chipotle //
You've come to the rescue once again, I'm so glad you are blocks away. I was so pumped/proud when I prepared my Pinterest-inspired BBQ crockpot chicken yesterday morning... and what a major flop. The guac tasted extra scrumptious last night for some reason... ;)

Dear Boxed Wine //
You are trouble. Pure trouble, and I love you.

Dear Friday Night Lights //
Shame on you for being so gosh darn good. You've kept me up every night this week by feeding my addiction. I mean, how can you expect me to watch just a few episodes a night, when the next one is just a click away after an intense cliff hanger?

Dear Dreamland //
Between dreaming we picked out a red headed baby with hazel/green eyes at the grocery store, horses herding runaway dogs at my cousin's house, and getting sprayed by a skunk who looked like a cheetah, you keep me wildly entertained.

Dear Hubs //
(Yes, you always get two letters) Thanks for pretending like that super dry/burnt crockpot meal was edible. Oh, and for chuckling each morning while I stumbled through explaining my wacko dreams... while I was still asleep. Love your handsome face off.

Happy Hump Day, you little Sassy Things you!

Weekend Outlook + Love Note

Thank sweet little 8 pound baby Jesus...
Friday is here at last! I am not sure if anyone else thought this week just dragged on and lingered, but this girl is ready for some down time. Sleeping in. Lounging around in yoga pants and no make-up.

Yup... heaven.

Here's a little glimpse at this weekend...

Today

+ lunch date w/ my mister at The Mixx
+ Adam meets the co-workers
+ wedding shower at my office (!)

Tonight

+ break out the wine!!
+ sweatpants and cozy socks
+ perhaps some pizza from Spin (our fave)
+ redbox a movie
+ snuggle up
(and love every second of it)

Saturday

+ sleep in
+ force myself to workout (I've been swamped and lazy)
+ do a few wedding projects
+ wedding dress fitting with mom and sissy
+ nap
+ hoping for another mellow evening

Sunday

+ teach my little 3rd grade girls Sunday School
+ do some shopping
+ maybe tackle a future house project or two (photos coming soon!)
+ play with the pup
+ church at 5 p.m.
+ catch up on my guilty pleasure shows...

...whoever invented DVR, I want to kiss you on the mouth.

.:::.:::.:::.:::.:::.

And just because it's Friday and I need to write a little love note to the almost hubs. I think the whole world should know how amazing, sacrificial, thoughtful, selfless, hilarious, and handsome he is.

Dear Mister,

How did I get so lucky? In 22 days I get to become your Mrs., and I'm so excited for no more goodnight goodbyes (and wedding planning - haha).

I am beyond blessed that you chose me to be your forever Valentine, and I am so thankful for the blessings that come from little life lessons. You've chosen to love me in good times and rough patches, and I sure don't deserve that.

Thanks for being you. Thanks for making me the world's tastiest steak dinner last night. And thanks for looking extra cute with your 5 o'clock shadow scruff. Doing life with you in insanely fun. :)

Remember, I love you more today than I did yesterday, and I will love you more tomorrow than I do today (if that's even possible). Just imagine how much WUB that will be when we're old and pruney 80-year-olds sitting on the front porch in our rocking chairs.

Yup. Wots and wots.

Looking forward to a weekend with you just getting back to being us (stress and wedding plan free!).

Love you,

The Future Mrs.

Little Letters

Good morning, lovelies!
I hope your day is off to a nice, worry-free start. It's Tuesday, and yet I find myself holding my breath for the weekend already.

I have to say that life is so good right now. So many fun moments, overwhelming blessings and a lot to be thankful for.

My heart is happy, and happiness equals little love letters on this Tuesday morning...

.: Dear Monday Night Family Dinner Gang :.

You are insanely fun. Even on the most relentless Monday work day, you add a little sparkle to my eyes. Thanks for the delicious food and silly game playing. But even more importantly, thank you for the friendships. You truly are my family and I love you.

.: Dear Coffee :.

You are my rock and morning salvation. I don't know what I would've done without you at 6 a.m. this morning. 3 cups later, you're my absolute hero.

.: Dear Parentals :.

This weekend was pretty fun hanging with you. I'm more than ready for your final move to Kansas City next week so we can hang out all the time. I see lots of breakfast dates while we watch the doggies wrestle each other. And although you have a tendency to explode Diet Coke cans in our fridge, I'm looking forward to our roomie reunion super soon.

.: Dear Wedding Dress :.

Although you make me antsy, I'm excited to wear you. I'm working on getting a little stronger first, but in the end, I have to be confident at any size. Adam is going to love you, and we are going to boogie the night away!

.: Dear Spa Date :.

I am so pumped to have Friday off to relax and unwind. Looking forward to and hour and a half of pampering. And that flavored water you have near the steam room always makes me feel like I've lost 5 lbs. Awesome.

.: Dear Bachelorette Weekend & Co. :.

I am so ready for you! Although everyone is so sneaky while sis has planned an awesome party, I am actually quite giddy to be surprised. Looking forward to sweats, ponytails, girl talk, sappy movies, wine pong, sassy gifts, and lots of snuggling.

.: Dear Bella Beast :.

You're adorable. I've know this since the first day I saw you 4 years ago, but lately you've been such a snuggle bug. I just love how you want to follow your mommy all over the house and really like to be right next to me. Your crazy puppy antics and floppy ears make my heart smile. Wubs ewe, Beastie Bear!

.: Dear Future Hubs :.

Thanks for granting mercy during last night's tickle war, so I wouldn't pee my pants. And in case you weren't sure, I still swoon over that cute little side grin of yours. I'm pretty pumped about our first round of pre-marital counseling tonight. Can you believe this is real?

53 days. 53 days until I get to promise you my forever. 53 days until your house becomes our home. 53 days until I'm Mrs. Adam Evans... and I'm counting the seconds.

.:::.:::.:::.:::.:::.

Happy girl right here. Beyond blessed.

Do you all have some things you're grateful for today?

Our Forever Song

Today marks 88 days until my forever starts.
How can it be that I get to walk down the aisle with my daddy and see the love of my life standing at the end of it. Just thinking of it gives me chills.

One of the many moments I'm most looking forward to is our first dance as husband and wife. Quiet. Just the two of us. Letting the moment and words sink in as he holds me in his arms. That's when our forever starts.

Chills.

Listening to "our song" tonight and it just fills me up.

We fell in love with Ben Rector's music together and have seen him in concert twice now. The very last time he sang "Forever Like That" - an unreleased song that is simply beautiful.

Every word or feeling that we have for each other is summed up in that sweet song... and we have our fingers crossed that he releases the album before March 9th! I think tweeting Ben everyday probably helps our chances, right?

I kid... I kid...

(kind of.)

If not, we can borrow this live YouTube version that I may or may not listen to several times a week. It just makes your soul happy, you know?

"Forever Like That"
By: Ben Rector

And I'll be your rainy day lover.
Whenever the sunny days end.
And whatever the weather, we have each other.
And that's how the story will end

I'll be your shade tree in summer mmm.
If you'll be my fire when it's cold.
And whatever the season, well, we'll keep on breathing.
Cause we'll have each other to hold.

I'll hold - I'll sing...

Well, I wanna love you, forever I do.
And I wanna spend all of my days with you.
I'll carry your burdens and be the wind at your back.
I wanna spend my forever - forever like that.

And I'll be the words on the pages.
If you'll be my sweet melody.
And the tune can keep changing, cause I'll keep arranging.
And this is the song that we'll sing.

We'll sing...

I'm gonna love you, forever I do.
I'm gonna spend all of my days with you.
I'll carry your burdens and be the wind at your back.
I wanna spend my forever - forever like that.

When the rain comes, I'll be your shelter.
When the storms blow, we'll be together.
When the winds may fall, I'll be right by your side.

I'll sing...

I'm gonna love you, forever I do.
I'm gonna spend all my days with you.
I'll carry your burdens and be the wind at your back.
I'm gonna spend my forever - mmm, forever like that.

.:::.:::.:::.:::.:::.

See, I told you it's amazing, didn't I?
The words alone make me cry, but these are the good tears. The over-joyed, happy kind of tears.

And on very special occasions, Adam will dance with me in the kitchen and sing the words in my ear. Love those days.

...and he'll probably shake his head at me and give me that look for telling you.

Probably going to be in trouble tomorrow...  :)

Is it March 9th yet?
*sigh*

Friday Letters

After posting some little heartfelt letters last Friday, I realized this is something my bloggy friend Rebekah does EVERY Friday. She's such a fun gal with great ideas, so I may follow her awesome lead and write Friday some letters pretty regularly!

Thanks for being awesome, Rebekah! :)

Without further adieu... here are some love notes for life this week.

{ Dear Pokes } I sure hope that you are taking your off week seriously. Rest, recover, and build some mega muscles. We're taking on the Longhorns at home next week, and I'm really going to need to pull out a big W, mmmkay?

{ Dear Dancing Shoes } You'd better dust yourselves off, because we're going to boogie tonight! I know I've neglected you since the last wedding rager, but we can celebrate Alex and Jordan's big day doing the Cupid Shuffle like nobody's business. Deal?

{ Dear Mr. Evans } You're a pretty good forgiver, and I admire that about you. I know I may be hard to manage some days, but you choose to love me unconditionally and deal with my cray-cray pretty well. Save a slow dance for me tonight? And maybe a glass of wine... or 3. We're going to have fun.

{ Dear Comp Time } I am wildly in love with you. Especially when I get to use you to make my Friday seem short. Despite the early morning meetings with high school kids, or dinner meetings with volunteers, you've kept me going strong and I can't wait 'til 2 p.m.

{ Dear Scale } I am determined to make you move in a good direction. Those extra sweat sessions at the gym and good WW food tracking will make you proud VERY soon.

{ Dear Gorgeous Wedding Dress } You arrive in a few months, and are putting things into perspective... please see { Dear Scale }.

{ Dear DIY } Why must you taunt me with your seemingly easy projects on Pinterest? Now all I can think about is how I need to find a sweet wooden pallet and some yellow paint to manage this masterpiece.

{ Dear Weekend } I am so pumped you have arrived after the longest week ever, and despite tonight's celebration, you are not jam-packed. I can't wait to be spontaneous, brunch, relax, and enjoy.

{ Dear Future Hubs } You get two letters, because I extra love you. Thanks for giving me that neck rub after a long day yesterday, for telling me I look pretty when I least expect it, and for just being fun. I catch myself smiling while I stare at you from across a room full of people. Still. After 3 Years. Can't believe you chose me.

.:::.:::.:::.:::.:::.

What are you looking forward to this weekend?
Need to write a letter too?

Catch you for the Mingle Monday blog hop next week, and stay tuned for Tuesday... Fall Frenzy blog swap going up!!

Wishing you that favorite-song-on-the-radio-blaring kind of good day...

Friday's Letters

Hello Friday... I've been waiting for you for quite a long time. This week has been extremely intense and I'm ready to finally relax and unwind just a bit.

How are all of you doing? Did you welcome Friday with open arms too?

Well those that know me well know that I love writing little letters. From an early age my mom drilled into me about the importance of thank you cards. At age 10, I wasn't so thrilled, but now I am very thankful for that skill/etiquette. (Speaking of letters, here is a bunch of super cute stationary!)

I have a few letters to write today....

{ Dear Sister }
I can hardly believe you are 19 today! Where on earth has time gone? I still remember sharing pink bubble gum with my 1st grade class to celebrate the day you were born. Although we had our off stages when you liked barbies and I liked boys, I am so thankful you're my friend and we have so much in common now. Thank goodness you gave up on those barbies.

Girly movies, painting fingernails, sharing juicy secrets, teasing, and keeping up with those sassy Kardashians is way more fun when you're by my side. I love you, and I'm excited to celebrate YOU this weekend.

{ Dear Zumba }
Thanks for kicking my tush last night. After 2.5 weeks of not being able to workout, you sure got me up to speed pretty quick. It sure takes a lot of energy to motivate myself to spend time with you, but I know you are a big key in making me look fantastic in my wedding dress... so you win.

{ Dear Gross Spiders }
You sure thought you would be pretty funny hiding in my sink drain this morning, didn't you? What a jerk. Then I bet you had so much fun that you called up your HUGE buddy to wait for me at my front door. Don't worry, karma comes in the form of the Orkin man's planned visit next Tuesday. It was nice knowing you, suckaaasss!

{ Dear Huge Laundry Pile }
Can't I just be a lazy bum for a while? Why can't you wash and fold yourself? Well, you are first on my agenda, and no matter how much I don't want to mess with you... I want to stop thinking about you even more. Not to mention I really need to get better at this whole domesticated thing before I become some handsome man's wife. I'm sure both he and I would appreciate it.

{ Dear Engagement Photos }
I would prefer that you are easier and less nerve racking than I imagine. If you could possibly capture genuine sweet moments and our personalities in the most flattering light, that would be incredible. Fingers crossed....

{ Dear Future Hubs }
Can you please come home already? I know you are working super hard being a fancy business man in Florida, but I miss your face. And your muscley arms. Thanks for your sweet good morning texts and for talking to me on a phone date late at night... even when there is a time difference and you're sleepy. You're the best. I'm secretly hoping for a rainy evening so we can watch movies and be cozy. Can't wait to catch up and do life with you this weekend.

.::.::.::.::.::.

Wishing you all quite the lovely weekend. Engagement photo and weekend update coming next week!

Hugs!
