Weekly Weigh-In: Week 9

My scale won't budge!!
Darn it all to heck, no big news this morning. I half expected it after my brother was in town all weekend and we ate out constantly (ew).

I've been hitting it hard at the gym, so that I can keep pushing through to my next goal. I have told myself this is zero tolerance time. I am in my best friend's wedding in 2 months, so that means I have 8 weeks to get into bridesmaid shape! The fastest way to get there is cut out empty calories, extra carbs, eat fresh and up my workouts!

Due to crunch time, this also means no extras, no junk, no adult beverages, no excuses. There are only so many "my diet starts tomorrow" excuses until you're no longer comfortable in your clothes right? Right! So I'm ready to kick it in to extra high gear!

I really need to keep better track in my food journal of absolutely everything so that I don't forget about those little extras! I mean that glass of wine and that cookie always seem to miss my food journal... hmmm.

I also need to be extra careful and get my workouts in while I'm on vacation this weekend! Healthy snacks are needed for our 8 hour car ride and my running shoes/iPod are coming too!

Any help/tips/advice?
I need to focus and I just know you ladies have some awesome tricks of the trade!

Weekly Weigh-in: Week 8

It was a good week for weight loss!
After doing a small 1 lb. yo-yo for a week or so, and then hitting a bit plateau, I'm finally past it! A few extra workouts and some cleaned up eating habits finally helped me push past it all!

I don't know if any of you have been in that spot before, but being at a plateau is very discouraging. Whether you stayed the same for weeks or lost a few lbs to gain them back, it can really wear you down after a while.

So obviously I was very excited to see a good loss this week! I really do feel great and I have finally hit my first mini goal! Now I'm out to conquer my next one!

I am very lucky and thankful to have such great workout buddies and encouraging friends and family! Thank you, all!

For those of you who have been struggling to get past those few pounds, hang in there! Step back and take a look on what you can do to move past it, and then enjoy the feeling of happy celebration when you do! This is doable, and it all starts with you! :)

Weekly Weigh-in: Week 6

Yes, I am alive after battling the flu for the last few days.
Semi-unfortunately, it wasn't the gross barfy flu that would have aided my pounds lost on Weekly Weigh-in. That being said, I am super thankful it wasn't afterall, and I am happy to be feeling quite a bit better!

So I weighed myself this morning, and I was almost positive it would be more. My clothes are fitting differently and all, but sadly it was not.

I am not sure if the lack of weight loss is partially due to the fact that I've been eating a copius amount of sodium-laden soup and crackers for the last 2-3 days, but I am happy it was a loss of some kind.

So of course, I am chugging my water today trying to get rid of all the sodium sitting in my system before my Weight Watchers meeting tonight. As soon as I can get myself all the way healthy in the next few days, I will be returning to the gym for more lunch time workouts!

Weekly Weigh-in: Week 5

From the very beginning of this weight loss journey, I promised to post about the high's and the low's.
Well, last week was definitely a low. With my brother visiting from out of town, it was a whirlwind of eating out, too many treats and minimal exercise...boo.

So, unfortunately there was no weight loss this last week, and I wasn't expecting there to be. A lack of meal planning and not consistently counting my WW points contributed to this week's gain.

{ Total Weight Loss = +1 lbs }





Nothing makes me more determined than to see my hard work undone by one too many slices of my homemade cake or lack of will power. Yes, it was a less productive weight loss week, but that won't stop me!!

Weekly Weigh-In: Week 4

It's about that time again...
I weighed myself this morning and I was super happy with the weight loss! Finally back on track after a not so stellar weigh-in last week... *phew*

I got my butt to the gym about 4 times and paid much more attention to what I was eating and portion size. I'm definitely feeling a lot better now that I have my act together, and I'm that much closer to my goal

{ Total Weight Loss = 2.2 lbs! }





For those of you doing Weight Watchers too, don't the meetings make such a difference?! I am so glad I went last week. It definitely helps re-motivate me, and I have that accountability that I don't have if I'm just doing everything myself.

Weekly Weigh-in: Week 3

Ihave been dreading this post all day!
From the beginning of this journey I knew I would have good weeks and bad weeks and I wanted to be completely honest with my weekly weigh-in... no matter what. This past week was not one of my better weeks. BUT the thing I have to remember is just to learn and keep moving forward! I know I can do this!

Well last weekend my girlfriends were in town for my bestie's birthday. Naturally we went out to eat for almost every meal, had drinks and desserts, and I didn't make time to workout. So today the scale reflects that. The good news is I didn't go completely overboard. With exercise thrown in the mix with all of my extra treats I could have done it, but I'm learning! :)

I hit the gym hard at lunch and my eating has been substantially back on track. Tonight I am attending my first Weight Watchers meeting and I think that will be a great tool for accountability and helpful tips. So bummer there was no weight loss, but here's to a much better week!

Weekly Weigh-In: Week 2

IAM alive, I promise!
Despite being ridiculously under the weather while visiting my family, and taking Monday off to recover, I have made it out of the yuck unscathed!

So here we are again for a weekly weigh-in! Due to feeling awful, I can honestly say i didn't workout a lick in the last 5 days, so I was decently pleased to see a good loss from just eating well!


{ Total Weight Loss = Exactly 2 lbs! }

I was a little worried that i wouldn't lose much since I was unable to hit it hard at the gym, but this just goes to show eating healthy works! Now eating healthy and getting my rear in gear at the gym, it's going to just fall off, right?

2 lbs. down... 29.2 lbs to go!


I also went on a little Barnes & Noble shopping spree with some awesome Groupons (LOVE those awesome Groupon deals!) I bought, and stocked up on 2 amazing cookbooks! Looking for new recipes? This one and this one are absolutely amazing and the food is to die for! Plus, Weight Watcher points are already calculated for each recipe online - so easy!

Not to mention I got some extra inspiration through my bloggy friend Rachel's story on A Blonde Ambition yesterday! Thanks Rach & Leslie! :)

Weekly Weigh-In: Week 1

Hey there friends!
Well, today is my very first Weekly Weigh-In since jumping on the Weight Watchers train last week. I was pretty excited to jump on the scale this morning, because I've been doing a pretty good job - hurray!

Despite eating out 3 times this last weekend, and having absolutely whatever I wanted during my romantic Valentine's fancy dinner with BF, I did better than I thought!


{ Total Weight Loss = 2.8 lbs! }

I honestly thought I would stay the same considering at least 2-3 days I didn't watch what I ate all the time... little treats definitely slipped in.

Not to mention my mommy sent me some delicious heart-shaped Valentine's cookies, and I loved every yummy bite of the gooey chocolate spoon cake BF and I shared during our date!

Despite the not so perfect eating habits, I did workout hard all week! That my folks is what saved my rear with all the extra goodies! 2.8 down... 31.2 lbs to go!

Moral of the story? If I can make great food choices and workout this week, it's going to be epic next weigh-in! Stay tuned for my 10 Tips to Get Skinny coming this afternoon/tomorrow! Off to the gym for my lunch hour! :)
