Note a la Gratitude

These last few days have been a complete whirlwind. On Friday morning I had surgery to remove my impacted wisdom teeth. Unfortunately, I've been in quite a bit of pain and have had several complications, but my goodness, I have learned so much.

Where do I even begin to share my thankfulness?

     + the kind words of encouragement my future hubs speaks to me daily

     + calls from my mommy

     + any food that isn't soup, yogurt, or applesauce that I can suck down

     + an understanding boss

     + a snuggly puppy to make me feel better

     + Adam's patience/gentleness when I'm sad or hurting

     + blog friends' get well tweets

     + an extra sweet nurse to take care of me at emergency check-ups

     + vicodin

     + vicodin

     + vicodin. yup... thrice grateful.

     + the daily check-in text from my daddy

     + the super fresh donuts on my counter to surprise my love

     + august 22nd, our meet-iversary (3 years of love!)

     + thoughtful friends who bring you gatorade at 11 p.m.

     + antibiotics

     + future (wonderful) in-laws who let me crash after surgery

     + hugs from co-worker friends

     + DVR

     + losing 7+ lbs (gotta look at the brightside, right?)

     + people who embody the essence of love

I am so thankful to each and every one of you whose selfless actions made me feel better. Although I'm not quite out of the woods yet, I can see the light in the distance! Hurray!!

First thing I plan on doing upon healing?

Find the world's crunchiest foods and have a massive crunch-tacular feast. Chomp chomp!

Oh! And kiss my redheaded wonder for taking such good care of me this last week. :)

Date Nights for Dummies

Let me just start off by saying that I've been spoiled rotten... Yes. Adam is a date night genius and I'm the dummy. For as long as I can remember, Thursdays have always been "our" night. No friends, no fam, no outside conflicts or plans. Just the two of us enjoying an evening together and catching up on "Madam" (Meg + Adam) time.

It really doesn't matter if he comes over to my place, we make dinner together and watch a movie, or if we go out on the town. I live for Thursdays.

Ladies, my boyfriend is a total stud. He always has the best ideas and I have to actually fight him to ever get the slight chance on me paying for something we do. He's too good to me.




All of this being said, BF got back from a long work trip last night, and I was just a little overwhelmed by how much I missed him while he was gone. I couldn't get enough hugs throughout the evening with our friends, and my heart leaped everytime he said "I missed you." Now with Thursday approaching I want to do something special and plan a fun date.

This is where you come in.

Unlike my creative other half, I lack the think fast know-how skills. It's really easy to fall into the same routine and plans (...don't get me wrong, I absolutely love movie night/sweat pants/snuggling like the best of them), but he deserves something low-key and special... help!

I wanted to surprise him with an evening visit to the Louisburg Cider Mill, but unfortunately the darn place closes at 6 p.m. I love making him dinner, not doing anything too fussy, but fun! We're a very simple/easy-to-please couple.

I think sometimes it's easy to get wrapped up in the chaos of life and let the important things be forgotten. One thing that you should always remember is you are a beautiful person who truly can make a big impact on the world. Love Letter

Dear BF extraordinaire,
Thank you for all of the wonderful quality time this weekend. It was so very nice to enjoy the scenic car drive with you, even if we made fun of each other the entire time. Thank you for not lecturing me (too long) when I drove around town on empty and didn't realize it until there was no gas station for 20 miles. I guess I just figured I can't fill the tank up until it's empty, right? ;)

I enjoyed sitting around the fire pit with you and the fam just talking and eating marshmallows. I love the way they look at you and consider you part of the family too. Melt my heart...

Thanks for all of the sweet, unexpected things you do for me, like buy me and my brother lunch, or letting me choose which appetizer we split when we were out for drinks. You are very selfless and nothing short of lovely.

I am so glad that you have chosen to put up with me even when I grumble about how much my heels make my feet ache. The fact that you would go completely out of your way to let Bella Beast out for me or drop an unexpected gift off at my house makes me smile so big.

Thanks for making me feel absolutely gorgeous even when I have damp hair and no make-up on. And the fact that you still send me I love you/mushy gushy/goodnight text messages after I had just been a complete sleepy grump at your house is borderline shocking. BUT I'm glad you've chosen to love little ol' me, grumpy or happy.

Why Good Mornin'!!
I woke up so unbelievably happy this morning. Why you ask? Well my alarm went off and I reached my hand out of my super cozy bed, grabbed my phone, and found a message from my super sweet co-worker friend that read:


"No work... SNOW DAY!! :)"




Instant smile.

So naturally I sent a text to BF, Mom and Dad, and all my fave friends. This girl has a snow day and I am ready to do something FUN to celebrate! WOOP WOOP!

With a predicted 15-20 inches of snow, I might be here awhile! I thought I would share my snow day plans with you via these fabulous photos.

Guess what today is? That's right, it's Friday with a lovely 3-day weekend holiday. Of course I am going to fill you in on all of my MEGnificent plans, but because a picture is worth a thousand words, I thought I'd share my relaxing weekend plans via photos...

With more snow headed my way, I plan staying in where it's nice and cozy this weekend. I haven't been feeling well the last few days, so with no diagnosis yet from my doctors, all I can do is try to relax and de-stress a little on my new treatment.
