Our Wedding Featured on Brides.com

Today is a very special day.
Our wedding is the feature story on Brides magazine online today!

You can only imagine my excitement when I found out our wedding was officially published and online for the world to see.

The amazing people at Brides reached out to me last fall asking to do a feature piece on our wedding, photographed by our dear friend, the lovely Sharaya Mauck. I had so much fun working with them to help capture the special details of our big day, and to relive it all over again is so much fun!

For more details on our wedding and to catch the whole feature, go visit Brides.com for the full scoop!

I just wanted to thank the great staff at Brides and Sharaya for making this come to life. Thanks so much for reliving our joy with us.

If you are in the KC area and are looking for a photographer, Sharaya Mauck Photography is by far the best in the biz... go visit her site for more gorgeous photos!

Eeek... is this real?

Wedding Photos Are Here!

Yup, you read that right.

The lovely Sharaya Mauck, from Sharayamauck Photography, decided to send over a handful of images before she left for her tropical vacay. What a treat!

Even though there are only a few, I am loving the way they turned out... so us.
Oh! Can you tell that Adam and I were cracking up at each other the whole time?

What a bunch of goof balls...

Little can you tell that it's POURING down rain and the thunder claps are so loud the hair on my arms stood on end. As a matter of fact, that may be why we're completely cracking up.

What. a. day.
Once Miss Sharaya gets back from sipping pina coladas and tanning beachside (jealous!), I should have much more to share - decor, behind the scenes, first look, ceremony, first dance, etc.!

Peace, love, and puppy dogs...

Wedding Shower In Photos

Ever since my first wedding shower a few weeks ago...
I've been dying to get the photos taken back from my dear friend Megan. She recently got a fancy new camera and so graciously decided to test it out at the party. Love her.

The CD of photos arrived this weekend, so I'm excited to share with you.

Let me paint a picture of how creative and wonderful the hostesses were. Everything was completely decked out in gorgeous decorations.

The dainty lemon poppy seed muffins were showcased on the prettiest yellow glass cake stands (must find some!), and the photos they requested of Adam and I were displayed in the most creative ways. They even gave us the frames after the party! What a nice surprise - they're so gorgeous!

Not a detail was left unnoticed, and I felt so blessed that my mom's best friends wanted to throw me a shower.

And everyone was incredibly generous. We got a beautiful group gift of our china and place settings (shown in photos below) as well as so many other nice gifts.

We are so blessed and so grateful.

Our super cute Kate Spade china.

The shower was set-up beautifully!

 Besties since elementary school.

Gorgeous personal touches.

Me and my sissy!

Loving on my little cousin Devyn and Auntie Sheryl.

The generous hostesses, mom & me!

Wasn't my first bridal shower so stunning? I am still blown away by how crafty, unique and fancy everything was! I had the best time, and I am still working on finishing up the thank yous (that's how generous everyone was!).

And a very special thank you to my dear friend, Megan, for taking such lovely photos.

You've given me the gift of reliving beautiful, special memories, and I appreciate it so much!

Weren't her photos gorgeous, y'all?

She's been tossing around the dream of opening her own photography business, and I think she'd be so great at it! That lady is one crafty, artsy gal.
Welp, I hoped you enjoyed the little sneak peek from my shower! Much more to come this week - stay tuned!

Our Engagement Photos

After showing you guys a sneak peek of our engagement photos, I have been really excited to show you the rest of our favorites! Your comments were so sweet, and we're just really excited to have beautiful photos that capture how much we love each other.

I cannot even begin to tell you how much we enjoy our photographer, Sharaymauck Photography. She is such a sweetheart with clever, unique ideas.

When we told her we would love photos that really show our relaxed personalities and how much we love being outside, she gave us just that!

We love how they turned out!!

Isn't that man super handsome? I sure think so! And no, we definitely didn't plan on getting photo bombed by a horse at the barn... but that surprise sure turned out cute. He followed us around the whole time - haha!

Dying to hear what your faves are!
We can't decide! :)

Save the Date: Wedding Venue Sneak Peek

Alrighty... it's official!
As of yesterday, we secured our wedding date and our beautiful first choice venue!! Both Adam and I couldn't be more relieved or excited to have that much done so quickly!!

So, I will officially be a married lady on March 9th, 2013! Ahhh!

Because I'm so excited, I figured I could give you all a sneak peek of our venue. The Hawthorne House reminds me of a beautiful southern estate with a white picket fence all the way around several acres lush acres. No matter what time of year it is, all the photos are stunning!

We will be getting married at the adorable picturesque chapel on the estate, and then hop over the adorable bridge to our plantation style house reception.

I am in love with the white wrap around porch, hanging plants, the light and airy Emerson Room (where the reception will be held), and the cute little gazebo in the front of the big lawn!

Take a look at a few weddings that have been done there...

So I have a few questions for all your engaged or married ladies out there. After we have found our venue, these questions still remain...

+ how did you choose a quality photographer/florist/DJ/cake?
+ did you meet/interview a bunch of them?
+ what about wedding make-up and hairstylist?

Any help or advice would greatly be appreciated! I love having such great blog friends who constantly offer encouragement and sound tips, so thank you in advance!!
