The Latest + Greatest

Our favorite day of the week has arrived... Friday.
You know what they say? Anything goes on Friday. This week has been a tad bit hellacious at times, but by golly... Imma gonna hit this weekend out of the park!

And probably have several glasses of vino... :)

Lots of fun things in the mix for the weekend forecast.
And lots of random things to share! So this is my little Friday Confessional of sorts. :)


1) Puppy Fever.
I've been BEGGING Adam for another doggie for Bella Beast to play with, and he made the mistake of telling me that maybe we can start looking. Ermahgerd! He's never had his own puppy before, so it's totally his pick.

Current choices are between a happy Boston Terrier or possibly a floppy-eared King Charles Cavalier, and I would be ecstatic about either choice. We even have a name picked out too, yup. :)

Have I been hunting through petfinder.com and local animal shelters to find our perfect new pup?
Maybe.

Have I been e-mailing results of said shopping to Adam 24/7?
 No comment.

2) Blog Makeover.
I am beyond excited to debut what the lovely Joelle @ Something Charming has been working on just for my little space. Full of personality, clean layout, and lots of sass.

3) We Are Little Kids.
Last night, I met Adam over at his house for a cozy/mellow date night in. Due to the whole house being in complete disarray from our pre-wedding paint projects, we had to set up a makeshift living room in his bedroom.

Once the TV was in place, we made a little picnic of breakfast for dinner on top of the bed as we watched animated movies in or sweats. We have the heart of 8-year-olds, folks.

4) Wedding Shower Pallooza

I have another wedding shower this weekend hosted by my sweet Bible study friend. She just told me yesterday that there are 25 people coming and I am just so blown away and excited?

I better pick out a cute outfit so that I look precious while sipping mimosas with the girls!

5) We've Got a Ring.
Last night  breezed by the jeweler to pick-up Adam's wedding band that just arrived. When I surprised him with it, he told me I needed to propose in a more creative way.

What a little turd. :)

6) Time to Beautify.

With the wedding looming a few weeks away, I'm all about my Crest Whitestrips and spray tans. My make-up artist who is styling everyone for the wedding is headed over for a trial run this weekend.

Needless to say, I've been pinning tons of Carrie Underwood looks. Excited!

7) Hello Superbowl.
Super pumped for Sunday! I couldn't care less about the game, and picked the 49ers to route for since I used to live in San Francisco, but I'm ready for food, family and friends. Adam's parents are hosting, and we've invited all of our fave peeps.

...and you may or may not be able to find me in their hot tub after halftime... #justsaying

Friday Confessions

Did you wake up all giddy?
I know I sure did... the weekend has finally arrived! I'm one happy girl just thinking about all the weekend fun ahead.

It's been a busy week, and apparently I thought I needed to get a few things off my chest. Confessional Friday here I come!


I confess that... I was feeling rather sassy in my red LOFT blouse this morning. Just HAD to send out some Friday kisses via Instagram! #selfie #xoxo

 

I confess that... I was a little too giddy buying paint for the future Evans' household last night (yes, that will be my new last name soon... weird!). You should have seen me practically skipping around Sherwin Williams. What can I say? I've never really been able to paint or decorate my own house like this before! ;)


I confess that... music theater + date night completely makes me happy. The future hubs and I are headed out to enjoy KC Restaurant Week (eat some gourmet grub for cheap!), and after dinner we're taking in Billy Elliott at the fancy new Kauffman Performing Arts Center in downtown KC. We both love us some Broadway.

I confess that... I had a mini makeup sesh in my office this morning. I spent too much time doing my hair and searching for a cute outfit that I lost track of time. So I grabbed my pink makeup bag and high-tailed it to work. Thank goodness the office is pretty quiet today.


I confess that... my toes tap every time a Justin Bieber song comes on the radio. I can't even help it, but I totally love the Biebs. #tweenproblems


I confess that... I would be totally fine if I never ever in a million trillion years had to write another thank you note. After writing around 40 for our wedding shower, my little hand is pooped! Granted, that's the least we can do to say thank you to such generous family and friends!


I confess that... I have a heated love affair with peanut butter. Yes, seriously. I can't keep the stuff in my house. I have days where I feel so weird because I just CRAVE it. I'm a mad woman, I tell ya!


I confess that... I've overindulged lately. Ever since my bachelorette party, I can't seem to get back on track! Good thing my wedding dress fitting is tomorrow (sarcasm)... thank the sweet Lord for Spanx! #needmoresalad

Confessional Friday

My goodness, Friday, I've been dying to see you since, well, Monday. Needless to say it's been a long week. When my alarm went off this morning I could've sworn it was Saturday, but alas it was not.

Anyway, I have big plans for the weekend that include roadtripping to Wichita w/ BF to see the fam, his fam, and our good friends! Should be busy and fun-filled, but I hope to get back at a decent time on Sunday to recover and relax!

1) I think I've finally broken the sugar addiction. Or at least made progress. I gave up all added sugars for lent, allowing me to just have a few treats over Adam's b-day, and it's been touch-and-go there for a little bit.

For those that know me, I have the biggest sweet tooth. The amount of "treats" I enjoyed per week wasn't normal. Well, I have to say the yucky bloated, tummy hurting side-effects of eating sugar after not having it in a while was enough to keep me going! I like this new energy I've found, and even after Easter, I may limit it to 1-2 treats per week. Woah.

2) Cannot stop listening to this song. I heard it on the radio Tuesday, and it's been on repeat ever since. Why does it have to be so gosh darn catchy?! Guilty pleasure indeed.





3) I am ridiculously excited to be home this weekend. There's something about being around my family, sleeping in my old bed, and relaxing on the patio that feels oh-so-good! Come on 5 p.m.!!


4) I've been tossing around the idea of taking a random weekday off soon. I just feel a little frazzled and overwhelmed at work sometimes, and it would be nice to take a random Wednesday, get stuff done, and have some me time. Do you do this?


5) I feel like I've lost all sense of time. It's almost April? What is today? WHEN is Easter? Wasn't it just Christmas yesterday? I feel old.


6) Before I confess this one, let me just add a little disclaimer that I love my friends dearly... BUT some of these high-maintenance, bridezilla weddings need to end soon. I am honored to be in several weddings this spring/summer and a bunch of them are extremely fun to be a part of. It's just the random, dramatically stressed out bride/groom that I can't handle.

Smile. Relax. At the end of the day you're getting married. Who cares if the linens aren't the exact color of the bridesmaids dresses. Nobody will notice... promise.

This whole thing has me DREADING wedding planning one day. I am either eloping (did you hear that, Dad?!) or making my own wedding low key, fun to be a part of, and a joyous celebration (as it should be). There will be no craziness.

Confessional Friday...

Happy weekend, friends! Can I get a big amen?!
Couldn't be more excited that it's Friday. All week long I kept thinking it was Thursday and in one day the weekend would arrive. Imagine my disappointment and utter bewilderment when it turned out to be Monday afternoon.

Well, this is going to be a fun weekend full of bachelorette parties (tonight), birthday festivities (tomorrow)and relaxation... and let's just be honest, a few glasses of vino!

1) Lately, all I want to do is shop. Shorts, jewelry, work outfits, dresses for weddings (not to be confused with wedding dresses), etc. However, I am reminded that my next bajillion paychecks are going to baby showers, wedding gifts, and wedding travel.


I saw this little number on Pink Lou Lou's blog this week and it took everything I had not to pull out my trusty debit card. Perhaps I can carve out a little fun money to share with my good friend Target? ;)


2) I need to take a moment to confess my lent shortcomings. I'm weak!! I originally gave up all sugar and this week I've been so naughty! I'm sure baking copious ooey gooey sweet treats for Adam's b-day didn't help. When they're not in front of me, I do so well, but I can't keep sweets at my house!! Ahh! From here on out... back to behaving!


3) I'm pretty sure I have blow dried and styled my hair approximately zero times this week. Yes, I know, my mother is shaking her head somewhere. I just love how healthy my long blonde locks feel when I air dry... however, this is probably a cop out and it's due to extreme morning sleepiness/laziness. I vow to be much more styled and polished this next week/weekend.




4) Somehow, I have managed to drop no less than three (yes, three) glasswhere items in my kitchen this week. Glass shards everywhere! What is my deal... maybe I need those grippy gloves NFL receivers wear?

Well, I am currently nursing a yucky cut on my big toe due to my butterfinger problem, but I think my Dora the Explorer bandaid is causing my quality of life to improve significantly! ;)


5) Y'all, I can't live without my planner. I know, I know, a tad bit OCD, but I misplaced it for a solid week and seriously thought my life was going to spontaneously combust. I need my colored tabs!! Where are my colored tabs?!





6) This morning is my bi-monthly payday Starbucks (yes, I only allow myself to go twice a month.. waa waaaa). I woke up super tired (due to The Hunger Games premier last night!), but excited for the promise of a tall skinny mocha to help me wake up! Drove to Starbucks ASAP...

...where I managed to justify waiting in a drive-thru lane of 15 cars instead of parking to go inside. I blame my ridiculous lack of motivation on the fact that I was up til 3 a.m. at The Hunger Games premier. Justifiable?


7) Dear goodness, I am so thankful that BF loves me unconditionally. I've been a hot mess on and off this week, and he always knows the right thing to say and how to make me feel special. God bless that man for dealing with my emotionally unsound moments. I even wrote him this mushy gushy love letter this week. He's the best.


7) When I need a morning pick-me-up, I just watch this video and die laughing. Like pee your pants/I can barely hold it/I should be wearing Depends uncontrollagble laughter. Click on it, and try to not even smirk... I dare you. Impossible.
