Real Men Wear Pink

All I noticed while watching the NFL game last night with BF and friends were the men in pink. I mean come on now, who can resist a bunch of good looking athletes working together to spread breast cancer awareness...

{ NFL, I applaud you! }

After my mom's scary 2006 diagnosis and long cancer battle, we are very happy to declare/celebrate that she is cancer free!
Her cancer journey shaped my passion for cancer patients and encouraged my career path.

I am now very happy and proud to be working in my dream job pushing closer and closer to finding that cure every single day...
...and we WILL find it!

On behalf of the American Cancer Society staff, I cannot thank the National Football League enough for helping us spread the word about breast cancer and donating toward that amazing cure! Every pink ribbon seen and mammogram encouraged is one more life saved.

  1. Yes, I couldn't agree more about the NFL supporting breast cancer awareness! I did the 3 Day last year and was in absolute awe of all the inspiring women I got to walk with . . . so powerful! It's been amazing watching the football players and team reps sport all this pink--and Monday night's halftime show? Perfect!

  2. Yes yes yes! Could not agree more! I share your passion for it after losing my sweet grandma (my hero!) to it in 2006.

  3. I absolutely love, love, LOVE the NFL's pink gear and tons of support! Gosh knows how many people tune into MNF so having all the pink really reaches so many through the NFL.

  6. I love this post! I'm a new follower. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 and after 2 surgeries and radiation she has been cancer free since then. We have both decided to wear as many Breast Cancer shirts as we can during the month of October. I think it is great that these professional teams and athletes are supporting it.

  9. I walked the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk last weekend in SF. It's 60mile walk throughout the city. It was incredible difficult but such a worthwhile cause and event that you just push through. Check out my blog for my favorite pictures from the weekend: http://leahainla.blogspot.com/

    Great post! We need to create more awareness of this awful disease.
