L.O.V.E.

Oh. My. Goodness. I love holidays! Ask anyone who knows me well, no wait... scratch that. Ask anyone who has even talked with me for 45 seconds how much I love every single holiday - they can totally vouch for my festive adoration. The 4th of July, St. Patrick's Day, Flag Day... you name it, I love it.

Well, good thing Sunday is Valentine's Day... Mmmm. As for those of you reading this and freaking out about that HUGE date slipping your mind, you can't go wrong with a sappy Hallmark card, nice dinner, and chocolate (when in doubt, the answer is always chocolate).

I got to thinking about why I love this particular holiday so much. For me it's not the fancy planned outing or being showered with gifts. I have come to the conclusion that I love Valentine's Day because it encourages people to be bold and tell you how much you mean to them. Valentine's Day is not solely meant to be shared with your significant other, but everyone and everything in your life that you love.

Most importantly, it is a day to be thankful for how happy those precious little things make your heart. As a tribute to St. Valentine, I want to share the many, many, many things that I love...

  1. Sorry Megster...I LOVE all holidays besides Valentine's day. I was just thinking an hour ago how long I have to wait until I get to share it with someone special...so far going on 25 years without...That is why I don't love Valentine's day. And the semi truck parked in front of Homeland that says with a big banner on the outside "Roses in a Rush" with stairs up into the semi...seriously? There's no thought in that. Maybe I'm bitter or maybe I just think that everyone buys "stuff" because they think they have to. I say show it 365 days a year without buying "things" to prove you like/love someone. I know you didn't say getting showered with gifts is what you like, but sadly I think that's the thought of way too many others. I'm getting off my soapbox now. Love you and I hope you enjoy your day that you love so much! I mean that! = )
