Enjoy my favorite version of "Auld Lang Syne"
from Sex & The City...

Love.

I know I'll be ringing in 2011 via amazing costume party... can't wait! I hope you plan to welcome the New Year in style! See you at the start of next week for some Mingle Monday... 2011 style!

Happy New Year, Lovelies!

Ringin' In The New Year: Nickelodeon Style!

Yes, you read that write... Nickelodeon style!
Due to my overwhelmingly creative boyfriend and his ex-frat boy roomies, the guys have decided to host another New Year's Eve theme party. This year, we're rolling back to 90's Nick!

So what all does a 90's Nick New Year's Eve party entail? Oh baby! Let me fill you in on the fun...

+ 90's Nickelodeon character costumes
+ countdown to a food fight (outside) at midnight
+ kiddie food... think chicken nugs (yum!) and puppy chow
+ best costume awards
+ lots of games, music, and fun!

Yes, everybody attending will be dressed as their favorite 90's Nick character, so I bet you're wondering what I've decided on, right? After hours of reminiscing about Rugrats, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Alex Mack and Clarissa Explains It All, I have finally landed on the perfect costume selection for me...

{ Patty Mayonnaise! }

Okay, so I had the costume idea down, but then it was time for some costume inspiration! Thanks to my trusty friend, Google Images, I found my do's and don'ts of Patty Mayonnaise costuming...

Behold the "Do's":

And the Don't (Yes, just one...)

So anyway, thank you random internet examples, your [non-skanky] costumes have inspired me to find my inner Patty! Can't wait to share photos with you guys!

I've got the short blonde wig, so now it's time to dig out a cute skirt and glue felt polka dots onto a sweater - hahaha! And where on earth do I find pink Chuck Taylors on such short notice... help!

Enough about our semi-Halloween awesome New Year's Eve bash... what are your plans to ring in the New Year?

PS- A big thank you to all of you who left encouraging words yesterday on my health scare diagnostics post. You all are so wonderful and each one of your comments meant the world to me! Hoping for a correct diagnosis soon! xo

Prayers Please!

Just a quick humble request for some extra prayers. I'm not ready to share the details yet, but I haven't been feeling well for quite some time now. After visits to several specialists, I have been in the 3-week long process of being tested for some potentially serious things. Yes, I'm scared, but I'm hangin' in there!

I just did my 3rd round of tests (after several inconclusive test results and several doctors), and the waiting game is hard! But you know what? God has a plan for me! Just ready to be diagnosed with whatever it may be, and then form a game plan to battle the pain.

Here's to feeling better and trying not to worry over the next 3-5 days!

Prayers for an accurate diagnosis,
comfort, & peace appreciated!

Just Call Me Obsessed...

I have to say that i have been quite the music junkie lately. I'm not really sure if it's because I am one of the only staff members in the office this week, so I need Pandora to keep me company? Maybe my soul just longs for some musical-ness (yes, it's a word...) in my life.

I have a nasty habit of listening to one song on repeat for hours and then it's stuck. Forever. Playing over and over and over again on repeat, and you want to know something? I love it. So I thought I'd get some awesome tunes stuck in your head too *insert evil laugh here*!

A few current song obsessions lately...

"Raise Your Glass" - Pink

* Random video, addicting song. Girl power!

"Grenade" - Bruno Mars

* Bruno Mars can do no wrong in my book. Great for dancing/singing/running!

"Marry Me" - Train

L.O.V.E. this song. Totally melt-my-heart worthy.

"Firework" - Katy Perry

* Hello 2011 theme song! What did we all do before Katy?

What songs are currently stuck in your head, or in my case, on repeat 24/7? You know how much I love new song suggestions! ;)

Peace, Love & Music, Yo...

Melt My Heart

The sweetest song came on my Sara Bareillis Pandora station this morning. And then my heart melted into a puddle of ooey gooey soupy-ness. Naturally, I have to share the indulgent, wonderful, sweet sappiness with you this morning, because I'm in that lovey dovey mood.

Missing that boy of mine.

Love that song so much. I'm totally head over heels for Green River Ordinance. *sigh*

Wishes & A Sprinkle of Inspiration

Over the last few weeks I have been collecting a whole slew of photos that I absolutely adore. Things I wish for my life, things that warm my heart and make my face smile, things that give me butterflies, and things that inspire me to be the best version of me this next year...

May these warm your heart like they do mine...

After thinking about what my 2011 new year's resolution(s) should be, I've decided not to focus on the typical resolutions: get healthy, save money etc. Weeks of thinking have gone by, and I believe I have finally found just one.

{ Be Genuine. }

Trust me, I thought about this for a good long time. What I've realized is that it's the most important thing in the world to me... be genuine.

Love with all my heart.
Be inspired.
Care deeply for people.
Don't let a day go by without working hard.
Write what I care about.
Go out of my way to help people in need.
Speak peace and truth.
Follow my dreams.
Learn how to be courageous in uncertainty.
Cry when I need to.
Belly laugh.
Learn that it's okay to be vulnerable.
Ask for help.
Do what makes me happy.
Cherish every single beautiful moment of this crazy life.
Trust in the power of prayer.
Discover exactly who I am.
Celebrate life.

.:::.:::.:::.:::.:::.:::.

...what inspires you for the new year?

Genuinely wishing you a beautiful 2011...

Sunny Tucson Trip: { Recap Time }

Yes, it's true! I've made it back from my gorgeous sunny Tucson getaway {Sorry I forgot to warn you that Mingle Monday would be skipper-ooed this week}! BF, his family and I went to visit his sweet little sister and see her graduate from the U of A - so fun!

Here are a few photos from the trip for your viewing pleasure...

{ Tucson Trip 2010 }

My handsome BF and I after his sister's graduation.
{Can you tell he hasn't quite grown out of no-shave November yet?}

What a great shot of the gorgeous pool, bar, restaurant area at the resort!

Another resort photo.

What an amazing sunset at Meredith's graduation party!

We love being silly and making each other laugh.

All in all, a great weekend with BF, his fam, and plenty of friends!

We arrived on Thursday morning and enjoyed a whirlwind of jam-packed fun!Graduation ceremonies, lounging at the resort, parties, nice dinners, cozy together time... you name it, we did it!

Despite my recent health problems, I hung in there with the best of them and loved every single minute of our Tucson trip. Not to mention it was super fun for BF and I to take our first airplane ride trip together {he's a pretty fun travel buddy!}. I can't thank BF's family enough for inviting me along to share such wonderful memories!

I sure did miss my humble little blog and all of you, but sometimes it's important to just turn off all distractions and enjoy spending time with the people you love. Thanks for being wonderful and understanding - couldn't wait to share the photos with all of you!

Hugs -n- Smooches!
